Sunny-Day-Out Mini Configuration Box

Here again with another altered Prima Marketing's wood icons box. Painted the entire box using Distress Paint in Walnut Stain. Then for the base, I've used My Mind Eye's 6x6" Paper Pad (forgot which one was it - Sorry!). Embellishments are by Tim Holtz, Heidi Swapp, Prima Marketing & Recollection. Butterfly die is by Sizzix which again has been distressed using Faded Jeans & Aged Mahogany.

Let's have a closer look!

This is pretty much it! I hope you liked it!

Gardenia Canvas

Hi there,

I just resumed work after taking a month's break and now I'm all into crafty stuff. Tbh nothing beats that feeling!! Today I am sharing with you all the canvas I did this week. I have listed down the items I have used individually as it's pretty simple.

Things Used:

- Recollections Tattered and Worn Cardstock Paper
- Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads (Black Soot, Evergreen Bough, Dried Marigold & Mustard Seed)
- Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains (Peacock Feathers)
- Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 8PK - Butterflies, Intricate #659971
- Stamps by Stampers Anonymous
- Perfect Pearls (Bronze)
- Recollections Flowers
- Recollection Adhesive Faux Pearls
- Prima Marketing Glistening Vines Silver
- Embossed Plastic Leaves (Picked up from some local store in Riyadh)

I darkened the entire background using Black Soot Distress Ink. Then picked up some background stamps and put those down randomly using Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls. When I was all satisfied with the background look I hopped down into embellishments.

Hope you all liked it! Happy Crafting!

Withered Day Canvas

Hey everyone!

Today's post is one of the March creations, I actually forgot to blog about it. Sigh! It's one of my favorites! I wonder what happened to the picture quality as in real it looked gorgeous. Anyway let's get into the details.

Things Used:
- Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads (Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Aged Mahogany & Embossing Ink)
- Tim Holtz Distress Paints (Walnut Stain, Evergreen Bough & Black Soot)
- Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains (Gathered Twigs, Antique Linen & Peacock Feathers)
- Tim Holtz LatticeWork Stencil
- Ranger Embossing Powder in Black
- Perfect Pearls (Pewter & Heirloom Gold)
- Scripted Stamp by Stampers Anonymous
- Cardstock (Forgot from which paper pad it was)
- Dusty Attic's Chipboards
- Prima Marketing Flowers
- Tim Holtz Metal Embellishments
- Embossed Plastic Leaves (Picked up from some local store in Riyadh)

At first, I distressed the entire background with inks and stains. I used a scripted stamp with some perfect pearls to give a bit of a shine. Once the background was done I put up the picture and started off with the embellishments which are already listed above. However, that leaf flourish in grey has been cut through Silhouette Cameo.

Close-up!!! As you can see there's a lot going on the background.

And there is my favourite pick - Metal Frame from Tim Holtz collection. Look at that detailing! I'm literally drooling over it!!!

Anyhow, it's time to end the post. I hope you all liked it! Until next time!

Honeycomb Card

April's Resolution: Going to post as much as I can! LOL! Let's hope that happens. I've been trying to manage my time since forever and it is not working.

Anyway, hello to everyone who comes and goes by regularly. I aplogize for not posting as much as I should. I will try to do it regularly from now on.

So, let begin! Background has been done using Distress Inks and Spray Stains in 'Seedless Preserves' & 'Peacock Feathers'. I went over with Tim Holtz stencil here and there with both inks and sprayed the edges. Also, I used a Distress Marker in cream shade (I don't remember the name of it) with Spritzer and sprayed randomly.

Tip - If you need various spray bottles and they're out of your budget. Go for the markers and buy a spritzer. Markers can be used for both watercoloring and spraying. Basically it's a 2-in-1 product.

Then picked out some blooms from Prima and glued them together. I felt something should be added so I had these branches of SOMETHING.. I literally don't know what they're called but I picked up these from a tree when I was having a family pinic. They came in handy! Haha! However, they were originally light brown in color and I sprayed them with 'Walnut Stain'. Once they were dried I glued them with the bunch of flowers.

Butterfly die is from Sizzix inked in 'Seedless Preserves' & 'Peacock Feathers'. Also I used Spellbinders layered frame die and stamped 'I Love You' using SimonSaysStamp stamp set. Base frame has been distressed using 'Vintage Photo' and top one using 'Seedless Preserves'. To finish off I added some bronze flat pearls bought from Micheals.

Here is a close-up of the Spellbinders die!

I hope you liked the project. Do leave a feedback! Until next time!

Pink Floral Canvas

Hi folks!

It's March already! I can't believe I haven't posted almost anything in the last two months. I definitely need to organize this month. Anyway enough about me and let's get to the point.

This personalized canvas has tons of layering and items on it. First the background is a random cardstock from one the paper pads. I have actually lost the main cover of it so I can't recall the name. I distressed the entire paper to match it the photography. Then I took a Tim Holtz Stencil and add a white texture paste on few areas of the pattern paper. Btw it's homemade and the texture is so smooth and dries up so quickly. You won't even believe what it is made of! I will type up the recipe in my next post. It's super easy to make and I bet you will certainly have everything at your home. Back to the canvas now, after adding the paste I sprayed using Distress Stain Spray.

For the embellishments, I have used Dusty Attic Frame and 'Little Moments' chipboard, They are my new favorites! I painted them using Distress Paints. The frame is painted on with Antique Linen and phrase is by Black Soot.

Next I added few Recollection and Prima flowers. Butterflies, leaves and flourish branch are cut by Silhouette Cameo.

I hope you like today's post! I am thinking of coming few reviews which hopefully I will be posting soon!

Toddles for now!

Winged Beauties Memory Canvas

Hi, everyone!

I've been selected as a new DT member of Crafters’ Palette and I am thrilled to be a part of the team. For my very first post, I have chosen a personalized canvas.

I made a photo canvas using the bunch of items. At first, I painted the sides of my plain white canvas using some Distress Paint in Walnut Stain. Then I took some patterned cardstock, and distressed iit using some Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Inks around the edges. I then used a Script Background Stamp on different areas of my background to give it a vintage feel. Once the paint was all dried up, I added the patterned cardstock to the canvas with some liquid glue.

To give a bit of a dimension, I layered two pieces of cardstock behind my photograph, and gave them some definition by inking and distressing the edges.

Next thing was to add the embellishments! I painted my title using Walnut Stain Distress Paint. I also added some flowers to my canvas, and a few metal embellishments. I die-cut some Winged Beauties Butterflies using my Sizzix Big Shot, and stuck everything in place.

I hope you enjoyed my project. See you next time!

Vintage Apology Card

Hello!

I'm back after way too long and this time I am trying to manage my schedule better than the last year. I hope it goes well! Anyway, so here I am posting my very first project for January & this is my current FAV. I liked how it turned out!

First of all, I have used Ranger Watercolor Paper. Honestly speaking if you are working with Distress Inks. You have to give them a TRY! You will definitely see a major difference between using an regular paper and a watercolor paper. Also, the one thing I liked about Ranger Watercolor Paper is that it has two sides one is smoother and other is the textured one. Here I went with the textured side, distressed it with Vintage Photo and did the edges with Black Soot. Then layered a Tim Holtz Latticework Stencil on top and inked it with Walnut Stain. Next I sprayed it with Distress Stain in Gathered Twigs. This was my first time using Spray Stains and I loved how they make the entire background pop. I absolutely love the effect!

For the metal embellishments, I chose Prima's clock and Tim Holtz's compass.

Leafy branches and cog are Sizzix dies. I have Distress Painted the two branches in Walnut Stain.

Top-right framelits are again from Sizzix. I have over-layered two frames. I have used black glitter sheet for the base and on the top comes the text. It has been die-cut on a plain paper which has been later distressed in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain

In the end I have glued some paper flowers in Maroon which went totally well with the vintage look.

I hope you like it. Drop in some love in the comments below!

Mini Canvas in PINK!

Hello crafty fellows!

I hope you are enjoying your winter holidays! Today I am posting a mini canvas that was presented as Christmas gift. The lady wanted something colorful with an name initial on it and this is what I ended up with.

I have used PCW word art file in here. You can find the link HERE. The set comes with 4 different texts. I just love the chalky effect of it!

First of all, I painted the mini canvas using Distress Paint in 'Picked Raspberry' then I stamped the canvas using one of the Tim Holtz Anonymous Stamp. Then added few flowers, name initial and PCW word art.

I hope you like today's post & have an amazing new year.

Configuration Box

Hello Crafty People!

I hope you're doing fab! I am here with a Configuration Book Shadow Box. It's a Tim Holtz Configuration Box which is about 6 x 9 x 1.25 inches and has 6 compartments.

So, firstly I covered the entire box using MME Pretty Things 6x6" cardstock. I adore this paper pad. It's so vintage and floraly. I simply can't get over these papers.

The paper was 6x6" so I overlapped two sheets and added a lace over it. Lace has been distressed by Walnut Stain Paint. Flowers are randomly picked from Prima and Recollection flowers packs.

Here comes my favorite part - THE INSIDE. Again, on the left I have overlapped two sheets covered the joined with the distressed lace. The sides of the box and edges of every cut out sheet is also distressed by the same paint.

I didn't cover it much, as the papers were itself gorgeous. So, just added few flowers and metal embellishments here and there.

I have used PCW word art file in there. You can find the link HERE. The set comes with 4 different texts. I just love this set because it almost goes with every project I make.

Framelits dies are by Sizzix. On the left
compartment, hanging metal embellishment is by Prima. I love the little crown at the bottom. On the right, I went with the mini jar with silver glitter and text in it.

I hope you like today's post! See you next time!

Persian Times Personalized Frame

Hello to all!

This week I had great fun personalizing this Ikea frame and using PCW Word Art with it.

First of all, I painted over the frame by Distress Paint. I used Antique Linen in here. It's such a sober color that goes with almost any bright and bold color. As it's a lighter tone, I decided to splash some brighter colors in form of floral embellishments. So, I went on and arranged some Prima and Recollection flowers and few leaves, butterfly and fancy frame die-cuts from Sizzix.

I Love You Word Art as mentioned above is by PCW. You can find the file here! I absolutely loved the font! It went so well with the Sizzix die. To give it a shine and a dimensional look, I used glossy accents on top of it. And then it seemed just perfect!

I tried to keep purple has the main color so I attached a two-tone purple cardstock in the back which totally complemented purple flowers.

Till next time Crafty Friends!

Configuration Box

Hello to November!

It's been so so long since I have last posted! Orders and studies have been keeping me busy. There are so many projects to be posted!!! I wish there were a bit more than 24 hours a day. Sigh!

Anyway, I did this Configuration Box which is by Tim Holtz recently. This was my first time doing it and I had fun making it. Lets get into the details!

First of all, I painted the edges from inside out by Distress Paint 'Black Soot'. Now for the front I covered it with DCWV 'Old World Stack' paper. It was more like a brighter blue but I distressed with grey shade (forgot the color name!) and edges by Black Soot. Stamps are by Stampers Anonymous and flowers used in here are mixed few by Recollection, Prima and others are from a local store. For butterflies, I have used a Sizzix die and later distressed them in various colors.

I love the word art stamp! It went well with the theme.

Forgot to mention earlier, banner is a die-cut by Sizzix.

Box sides are covered by using a different paper from the same DCWV pad. Edges are distressed in Black Soot.

Now comes the inside part! Left side has been covered with the distress paper and then a personalized note is added on it. Why waste the space? When we have got plenty!

On the right, a lot of emblishments have been used as you can see. Metal, florals, die-cuts .. Literally everything!

That cute mini envelope is a Bigz die by Sizzix which has note in it. Metal embellishments are just random ones which them from a local store. && for that mini jar I just added some silver glitter and added a stamped name tag and glued the cork.

Laces have been distress painted and the top and the bottom lace is a black card stock which have punched by Martha Stewart edge punch.

That is it! It took about 2 days to complete this project as I am a impatient crafter. Haha! Hope you like it!

Floral Days Canvas

&&& here comes another floral canvas. I have used pretty much same products like in the previous one. Papers flowers are from a local store except the flat grey one is from Prima Marketing.

Destiny tag is from Tim Holtz idea-ology collection which I have tied using a twine and bottom-left stamped image is by Stamper Anonymous. I have stamped it using Distress Embossing Ink and Perfect Pearls in Pewter. I am totally in love with the product! It gives a perfect pearly effect to the image.

Butterfly die-cut and label framelit is by Sizzix!

I hope you like it!

Summer Sunshine Canvas

Hi there!

I'm here with my new post and this time it's small sized canvas. This was the very first time I tried doing the background of a canvas by distress inks. I think it turned out pretty great! What do you think?

Firstly, I covered it with the lighter shade of distress ink and on the top of it I did a bit of a stenciling by blue and red shades of distress inks to give a bright summer look.

Leaves, butterfly and the frame are thinlits from Sizzix.

I recently bought these flowers in various colors from a local store in Riyadh and I simply can't get over them. Just giving you a heads up you would be seeing a lot of them in my future posts.

'Sunshine' is again a thinlit from Sizzix.

This project hardly took 20 minutes and the end-result was pretty cool. Hope you like it!

Tim Holtz Distress Markers

Hey there!

I hope everyone is well. Today I am reviewing Distress Markers which I have been using for almost a week. I ordered the set of 49 markers.

When I first opened and started using them, I almost ruined 6 images. YES! 6!!! Thankfully once I started doing the 7th one, I was pretty clear on how to use them. The thing I liked about them the most is that they coordinate with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads

What is basically a Distress Marker?
Distress Marker is a water based marker. It has a dual-tip, one side it has a brush tip and other end is a very fine tip. Brush tip is used for coloring and shading and fine tip can be used for jorunaling and drawing.

Aren't the colors yummy?

You can color them directly on rubber stamps, so now there is no used to get different colors of stamping pads. Get the markers and use it for multi-purposes!

Another thing I would like to mention is that as I have mentioned these are water based markers but I have also tried using them without using any water and the projects turned out pretty great. In few more days I will be sharing those projects on the blog.

Can't get over them! The colors are so darn gorgeous!

An important note that you have to store Distress Markers horizontally to keep ink following at both tips.

Happy Coloring!

Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Pads

Hello there!

Since couple of days I was thinking to post few 'Product Reviews' of my ever F-A-V products. So here I am with the first one and it's Tim Holtz Mini Distress Pads. They are total of 52 distress colors. They come in a pack of 4 and if you need only few of them then you can buy them separately. Anyway, I have bought them as kits and I have all 13 of them. Call me crazy!!! But I am huge fan of these. Why? Keep reading and you will get to know!

First the basics, they are about 1x1" and have a raised felt surface which makes it super easy to use directly on a crafting surface without even using a blending tool. Another great thing about them is they are stackable so they are very easy to store. In case you don't want to stack them up, you can get storage tin by Tim Holtz (that's what I did), they are specifically made for the minis. As you can see in the picture below, each tin can hold up to 12 mini distress pads and you can easily store a mini blending foam under each pad easily. They are absolutely perfect if you less storage space or if you aren't able to get the regular ones because of the price. You can get these with the re-inkers and you're good to go.

One main thing if anyone of you is confused between the regular distress pads and the minis. Let me tell you that there is no difference at all. They're just smaller in size and quite cuter! If you're a newbie here is what you need to know distress inks comes in all colors and shades. For dark to light and from bright to pastel. They are perfect to use on a paper, canvas and any wood item. I totally love these! I have been using since a year and I haven't re-inked them yet.

If you're into making your own custom backgrounds, give them a try! You won't be disappointed!
